FAQ

Who are Lenses Direct To You?

We are a stockist of cosmetic zero powered lenses and other cosmetic items. All of our products are sold under the supervision of an eye care professional.

What are cosmetic eye accessories?

They are cosmetic lenses that change your eye colour. They are not prescription and they do not have any medical or prescription benefit. They are for cosmetic use only. We do not offer any prescription lenses or other prescription items. Manufactured in accordance with the EU Cosmetics Directive.

Some of your lenses have different names than they used to have, why is this?

We used to purchase lenses from ispyeyes.com - these have since closed down and we now purchase from jasmineslenses.com. The lenses are exactly the same and are manufactured by Mesmereyez Lenses, so they're the same lenses with a new name.

Will the lenses look like the pictures?

Obviously everyone starts with a different eye colour and tone, so the colour change from wearing our eyewear can vary from person to person. Typically customers with blue eyes will get a better colour change in terms of intensity, of course depending on how close the lens colour is to your natural eye colour but this isn’t always the case. The lighter your natural eye colour, generally the more accurate the colour change will be. If you have dark brown eyes the changes in eye colour will be more subtle and an intense lens colour will be more beneficial. Once you insert the lens however please be aware that colour change may not be an exact match to the images shown, whatever your starting eye colour.

We cannot guarantee that your computer monitor's display or phone's display of any colour will be accurate.

Colour change from our lenses will vary from person to person for factors including your natural eye colour and eye size. Our lenses sold are sold in one size only. If this is not your size we cannot guarantee correct fitting. We recommend a fitting or measuring by your optometrist. We cannot guarantee your natural eye colour will not show through the lens this is demonstrated on the website images and on customer images on Instagram whose feed is linked to on the homepage. When buying our lenses you agree that you understand fitting and colour change will vary and we can not guarantee a certain fitting or colour change.

Do I have to be a certain age to wear the coloured contact lenses?

Yes. You need to be over 16.

Is it possible to track my order?

If your order was under £50 then no you can't track your order unless you live outside of the UK or opted for Next Working Day Delivery. See our Shipping page for more.

Will I have to pay Duty?

Yes. The price can differ from country to country, any duty costs from incoming mail is your responsibility to pay, we suggest checking with your local office before ordering. We do not pay duty or vat on your behalf on any order. Duty and vat are now applicable to all EU countries and the rest of the world. Rates will vary.

I no longer require my order, or my lenses are faulty, how do I receive a refund?

Please follow the instructions on our Returns page for this. You must make contact about returning an unwanted/faulty item within 14 days of receiving your order by emailing us and quoting your order number - return postage is at your own cost (except for faulty items) and you have 14 days to send this back to us.

What are the sizes/specifications of your cosmetic lenses?

The base curve of our lenses is 8.6 and the diameter is 14.2. We offer one size only. Please get measured by an optometrist before purchasing. We disclaim any liability for the information provided on our website, which is provided to you on a general information basis only and not as a substitute for personalised advice from an optician.

Can I wear my lenses overnight?

No - never sleep in your lenses or prolong the use of lenses longer than is necessary. You can starve your eyes of oxygen by doing this and cause damage. Always remember to take your lenses out before going to sleep.

How long can I wear my lenses for?

We recommend wearing your lenses for no more than 8 hours.

What are the care instructions?

Always wash your hands before use. Soak any 3 month lenses for 6 hours in solution prior to first use. Keep lenses in fresh solution after wearing. Change the solution twice a week or every time you wear. Insert lenses before makeup. Remove lenses before removing makeup. Never sleep in your lenses. Never share your lenses. You should get your eyes measured by an optometrist prior to purchasing as all our lenses are one size. Never wash lenses in water use lens solution only.

Can I use them straight away?

You need to soak your lenses in solution for 8 hours prior to first use if they are 2 month lenses, if they are one-day lenses they are ready to use straight away. We recommend buying the solution listed on our website. Your lenses will not come with solution unless your order this separately. They will also not come with a lens case unless your order our solution which comes with one, our applicator kit or our multi lens case.

Are these lenses hard lenses or soft lenses?

Our lenses are all what you would regard as a soft lens.  They are all soft and flexible, as we offer lenses from a number of brands and suppliers the exact composition of the lenses will vary and as such so will the overall softness and flexibility.

Can you wear 2 contact lenses in one eye?

You must never wear 2 contact lenses in one eye.  You can of course wear a coloured contact lens in combination with glasses to correct your vision

How long will my lenses last for?

Our lenses come in one day and three month versions. They will last up to three months from the date you open the blister pack if they are stored in a lens case in solution, or until the expiry date on the blister pack if they are unopened. Solution is available to buy here and this comes with a lens case but you can also use your own. We also sell applicator kits to help you insert your lenses easier which comes with a lens case, and a multi lens case which holds several pairs of lenses. If you don't store your lenses correctly they will dry out and become unusable. You are responsible for the correct storage of your lenses. You should change your solution every time you wear and keep it topped up inbetween.

One day one use only contact lenses are exactly that, they are for a one-off use only. Once you open the box you will need to use them within 24 hours and throw them away after wearing. You can wear these straight out of the box with no soaking necessary. The price of these one day one use only lenses is noticeably less than our three month lenses.

Do I need solution?

Yes if they are three month lenses. We sell solution separately on the website which comes with a lens case, the lenses themselves do not come with solution or a lens case.

What marks of quality do your fashion lenses come with?

All lenses sold are CE approved for use in Europe.
